2026 R1 Product Update Improves Financial Visibility, Reporting, and Coordination for Professional Services and Field Service Business

Bellevue, Wash. – March 26, 2026Acumatica Cloud ERP today introduced its 2026 R1 product enhancements for professional services and field service organizations, including expanded AI capabilities, enhanced reporting tools, and new collaboration features to help mid-market businesses operate efficiently and make faster, data-driven decisions.

As companies expand service offerings to drive revenue and strengthen customer relationships, many find that legacy systems struggle to scale, negatively affecting control. Disconnected systems and manual reporting slow decision-making and make it harder to manage projects, resources, and financial performance as businesses and subsequent operations grow in complexity.

The 2026 R1 update addresses these challenges with AI-enabled workflows, improved reporting and financial oversight, and enhanced collaboration tools that better connect field teams with the back office. The release also introduces early access to Acumatica’s AI Assistant, giving users a more intuitive, conversational way to surface insights, with broader availability planned for later this year.

“Service-driven businesses depend on clear insight into people, projects, and profitability,” said Jon Pollock, chief product officer at Acumatica. “When finance, project, and field service teams within an organization work from the same data, they make better decisions, improve resource allocations, protect the company’s margins, and build a unified foundation for sustainable growth. That’s what 2026 R1 is designed to deliver.”

Professional Services Edition Project Management Enhancements

2026 R1 delivers improved mobile time tracking, more flexible timecard configurations, deeper financial visibility, and tighter project oversight in Acumatica’s Professional Services Edition. Enhanced reports include Employee Utilization, Project Revenue Analysis, and Unbilled Project Revenue Aging. These features use the project billing engine to calculate the expected revenue and give firms more control over revenue timing and work-in-progress, helping protect margins as projects evolve. By further connecting project accounting and financial management, organizations can move beyond spreadsheets to real-time decision-making.

Field Service Flexibility and Pricing Improvements

Field Service enhancements introduce greater pricing flexibility and operational control. New attribute-based pricing for lot- and serial-tracked items aligns pricing with real-world service complexity. At the same time, expanded Calendar Board and workflow improvements strengthen coordination between the office and the field.

AI-Assisted Workflows for Unexpected Events and Document Management Automation

New AI-powered capabilities streamline workflows and proactively surface unexpected issues, such as revenue leakage or low staff utilization, by:

  • Continuously monitoring key report metrics to detect unusual variances
  • Automatically tagging documents by type to enable faster, more accurate search results

Strengthening Customer and Employee Collaboration

Expanded collaboration tools strengthen communication across finance, project, service, and customer teams. A modernized Activity Stream consolidates engagement history across opportunities, cases, and sales quotes, enabling faster responses and more informed actions, all within a unified system of record.

“With our expanded service capabilities, we’re giving professional services and field teams the intelligence they need to scale revenue while staying firmly in command of their business,” said Pollock. “The enhancements and innovations featured in 2026 R1 reflect our continued focus on helping midmarket organizations turn operational data into a strategic advantage.”

Industry-Specific Enhancements Strengthen Financial Oversight, Project Execution, and Proactive Risk Detection

Bellevue, Wash. – March 25, 2026 — To help construction firms address rising project complexity and cost pressures, Acumatica Cloud ERP today introduced new Construction Edition capabilities in its 2026 R1 product update, giving contractors stronger financial control and real-time visibility throughout the project lifecycle – from bid through closeout.

Tighter margins, unpredictable material costs, labor shortages, and evolving compliance requirements force construction leaders to rethink how they manage risk and predict performance. With 2026 R1, Acumatica embeds AI-driven forecasting and project intelligence directly into the workflows contractors use daily, providing a construction management solution that helps teams identify issues earlier and act with greater precision and confidence. As part of this release, users will also gain experimental access to Acumatica’s AI Assistant, expanding how teams interact with data and surface insights, ahead of its full general availability later this year.

“Construction firms can’t afford surprises late in a project,” said Joel Hoffman, director of product management, CRE, at Acumatica. “With 2026 R1, we’re delivering embedded intelligence that helps contractors spot risk sooner, maintain tighter cost control, and make smarter decisions with confidence.”

Building on the supply chain innovations Acumatica announced earlier this week, this release extends the company’s AI-driven capabilities to construction, equipping firms to manage complex projects with greater predictability and control.

Key Construction Edition updates include:

  • Full-Lifecycle Project Solutions: Automated revenue percentage calculations improve progress billing accuracy, while new quantity- and unit-rate-based cost projections help teams anticipate overruns before they impact margins. Together, these enhancements deliver clearer forecasting and tighter control over job costs.
  • Enhanced Project Financials and Payroll Reporting: Enhancements to project and branch alignment and new auditing capabilities provide greater visibility into unprocessed project-related transactions, helping finance and operations teams maintain accurate reporting. These updates ensure payroll, billing, and cost tracking remain aligned with real-time project performance.
  • Modernized Document Management: Expanded document management within the modern user interface centralizes project files in one cloud-based system, improving organization with automated tagging, access, and collaboration between field and office teams, while strengthening audit trails across the project lifecycle.
  • AI-Powered Anomaly Detection for Project Risk: Powered by Acumatica’s AI Studio, enhanced anomaly detection surfaces unusual transactions, cost patterns, and data inconsistencies before they escalate. For contractors operating on tight margins, this added layer of intelligence helps mitigate risk, protect profitability, and make faster, data-driven decisions.

“Before moving to Acumatica, we struggled with disconnected systems and limited visibility into real-time job costs,” said Andrew Pistorius, chief financial officer at Mid-States Companies, an Acumatica customer. “The new Construction Edition capabilities reflect where the industry is heading. We’re excited to begin leveraging the enhanced financial insights and AI-driven features once available, as they have the potential to help teams like ours identify risks earlier and make more informed decisions.”

Tomorrow, Acumatica’s 2026 R1 launch week will continue with a deeper look at innovations in professional services and field services, highlighting how organizations can further connect project execution, service delivery, and financial performance across the entire business.

AI Capabilities Enable Product-Driven Businesses to Execute Faster and Operate Smarter in Volatile Markets

Bellevue, Wash. – March 24, 2026Acumatica, the cloud ERP leader trusted by small and mid-sized businesses, announced the general availability of its latest product update, 2026 R1. With the new release, customers gain access to AI Studio, a set of tools enabling them to safely create and deploy AI-powered workflows with confidence, as well as experimental access to Acumatica’s AI Assistant ahead of its general availability later this year. Purpose-built for manufacturers, distributors, and retailers, 2026 R1 introduces intelligent workflow enhancements that help businesses respond faster to demand shifts, streamline fulfillment, and sharpen profitability control.

In today’s increasingly volatile supply chain environment, companies must balance speed, flexibility, cost, and service levels simultaneously. From fluctuating customer demand and freight variability to marketplace complexity, operational decisions now carry greater financial impact.

“Agility has become not only a competitive advantage, but also a business necessity,” said Debbie Baldwin, director of product management at Acumatica. “Manufacturing, distribution, and retail leaders need smarter execution across ordering, fulfillment, and profitability management. With 2026 R1, we’re delivering intelligent capabilities that help customers adapt quickly and operate with greater precision.”

Manufacturing Edition: Precision on the Shop Floor and Profitability in Every Order

For manufacturers, operational delays and inaccurate production data directly erode margins. Acumatica 2026 R1 strengthens execution by providing:

  • Acumatica Shop Floor Kiosk, a new intuitive interface to support real production environments. It enables workers to capture production data directly as it happens on the shop floor through a simplified experience that provides a clear view of active work, reducing manual data entry and improving real-time visibility into production progress.
  • Production timing and cost precision with seconds-level tracking, enabling manufacturers to quickly track operations and improve labor reporting accuracy and cost calculations for high-speed or highly repetitive processes.
  • Better planning with in-transit inventory visibility, enabling Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) and Distribution Requirements Planning (DRP) to capture inventory already on the way between locations, helping prevent duplicate transfers and unnecessary purchases while improving multi-site recommendations.

Distribution Edition: Smarter Fulfillment and Revenue Optimization

To address the mounting complexities that distributors operating across warehouses, drop-ship models, and marketplace channels face, Acumatica 2026 R1 delivers:

  • Faster, more flexible warehouse operations, with real-time picking location adjustments and recommended put-away guidance to reduce travel time, improve organization, and accelerate fulfillment
  • Stronger inventory control and global procurement, including approval workflows for inventory adjustments and multi-currency requisition management across subsidiaries
  • More efficient shipping and back-office operations, with automated shipping paperwork and enhanced print queue management to reduce manual effort and streamline processing

Retail Edition: B2B Commerce Acceleration and Marketplace Control

With 2026 R1, retailers scaling B2B, DTC, and marketplace operations gain:

  • Native BigCommerce B2B integration with a new company entity and bi-directional sales order sync, delivering cleaner data, stronger account management, and reliable transaction processing.
  • Smarter Shopify marketplace tax automation across Shop, TikTok, Instagram, and Walmart with intelligent tax mapping and streamlined reconciliation for more accurate financial reporting.
  • New Amazon profitability dashboards providing real-time visibility into fees, refunds, Fulfilled by Amazon reconciliation, and settlement performance, empowering teams to protect and grow margins.

“Real-time data and margin control are critical in maintaining business performance amid supply chain complexity,” said Christian Hancock, general manager at Wine Racks America, an Acumatica customer. “Manufacturers need better insight across inventory, purchasing, and financial data to stay competitive. These new capabilities and workflow enhancements are promising developments, and we look forward to evaluating how they can help improve cost visibility and support more data-driven decisions.”

Acumatica 2026 R1 reflects the company’s broader commitment to providing industry depth that delivers value from day one. With AI Studio and AI Assistant at its core, this release empowers mid-market businesses to predict risk, strengthen financial visibility, and unify operations.

For the first time in its history, the company’s flagship event took place in Seattle, with the convention center hosting more than 3,000 Community members. The opening day keynote emphasized Acumatica’s long-standing commitment to imagining what’s possible, while recognizing that the future is no longer on the horizon. It’s here.

“We’re living in an incredibly exciting age of AI, with endless possibilities—and impact that organizations are experiencing today. We see it with customers who are combining new AI capabilities with human ingenuity to enhance performance and empower people to do their best work,” said John Case, CEO of Acumatica. “That’s what Acumatica Summit is all about: showing how our vision for innovation is coming to life today, with customers achieving real, meaningful results across their operations.”

AI Innovation Backed by Market Momentum

During the keynote, Acumatica highlighted how its approach to AI and innovation is designed to move customers beyond experimentation and into practical adoption. By embedding AI directly into everyday workflows, the solution helps businesses improve visibility, automate routine processes, and make faster, more informed decisions, without disrupting how they already operate. With an emphasis on usability, practicality, and responsible adoption, Acumatica ensures AI reduces complexity, enhances performance, and ultimately serves the people using it.

This same customer-focused mindset extends to payments and financial operations. Acumatica announced its recent acquisition of CoreChain, as well as a new partnership and integration with AvidXchange, strengthening its ability to deliver modern, scalable payment workflows.

Combined with its existing relationship with BILL and Acumatica’s payment capabilities, these moves enable deeply embedded accounts receivable and accounts payable automation tailored to mid-market businesses. In addition, these developments strengthen Acumatica’s cloud ERP platform with modern, scalable payment workflows that grow with customers, reduce reliance on disconnected third-party tools, and reinforce its position as a leader evolving alongside small and mid-sized businesses.

Customer Success Takes Center Stage

At the heart of Acumatica Summit are the customers achieving meaningful outcomes with modern business management systems. Acumatica recognized standout organizations whose innovation, growth, and impact exemplify what’s possible with modern ERP.

  • Acumatica Customer of the Year: Storm Smart

Storm Smart has been one of Florida’s largest providers of hurricane protection solutions for homeowners and businesses since 1996. In the past five years, Storm Smart has doubled revenue, expanded from two to seven branches, and scaled to over 430 employees. To support this rapid growth, Storm Smart replaced a legacy homegrown system with Acumatica as its system of record, gaining the visibility, automation, and scalability needed to operate efficiently across locations and continue delivering high-quality service at scale.

  • Acumatica Impact Customer of the Year: PSI Family Services

Serving communities in Washington, DC, and Maryland since 1979, PSI Family Services is a community-based nonprofit founded by two female, African American psychologists seeking a better way to support those in need. As its operations expanded—including clinics serving 800–1,000 individuals and a workforce of approximately 110 employees—PSI moved to Acumatica Cloud ERP, replacing a legacy system that could no longer scale. Acumatica provides the flexibility, security, and visibility PSI needs to manage thousands of claims, integrate electronic health records, and remain resilient, enabling staff to focus on delivering high-quality care and long-term impact to the communities they serve.

“Storm Smart and PSI Family Services are fitting and inspirational examples of what’s possible when innovative organizations pair modern technology with strong leadership and a clear vision,” added Case. “They’re using Acumatica to drive real operational excellence, gain meaningful visibility across their businesses, and achieve measurable results. Their success reflects what our Community is all about: practical innovation that delivers impact today.”
