REMCAN, a Canadian multi-faceted, maintenance and construction rail industry leader, ran on legacy Sage and spreadsheets, which required manual work. Processing a 200-page fuel bill took three to five days. Accounting clerks spent 25% of their time on data entry. Field employees entered hours and expenses for 40,000 field ticket reports on paper or spreadsheets, which then were photographed, faxed or emailed, and then typed into two disconnected systems.

Monthly financial closings now take just five days instead of 15, freeing the accounting teams time to concentrate on other matters. The platform’s open API allowed a seamless connection to its third-party field ticketing application. REMCAN also gained features like AP AI invoice recognition and mobile expense processing, which allow the company to operate more efficiently.
