On March 8, 2026, countries around the world will celebrate International Women’s Day (IWD). It’s a day that encourages collective action towards the advancement of women across the globe with the objective of helping women be in a position to make informed decisions about their health as well as empower them in arts, sports, the workplace, and the technology space.
For 115 years, IWD has been a call to action for gender equality while celebrating women’s achievement and raising awareness about discrimination. Acumatica enthusiastically joins the millions of people commemorating IWD 2026 and supports its mission through our inclusive hiring practices, extensive learning forums, and focused outreach initiatives that empower women in technology.
The theme for IWD 2026 is “Give To Gain,” which according to IWD, “emphasizes the power of reciprocity and support. When people, organizations, and communities give generously, opportunities and support for women increase. Giving is not a subtraction, it’s intentional multiplication. When women thrive, we all rise.”
This call to help women thrive was the ringing message heard by Acumatica Summit 2026 attendees during our annual Women in Tech Luncheon and Networking Lounge.
Encourage Self-Worth and Acknowledge Accomplishments to Achieve Success
During our ninth annual WiT Luncheon, award-winning author, speaker, and executive strategist JJ DiGeronimo led a panel of women professionals, including technology executive Lori Seal, industry influencer Helen Yu, and race car champion Loni Unser. Each one has found unqualified success in their chosen industries, and their stories of pushing past self-doubt to reach their goals inspired the 600 people in attendance.
“It’s been an amazing experience,” says Martha-Lucia Groulx, Acumatica’s Chief People Officer and host of the WiT Luncheon. “It’s a space…for continuing that learning process… to enable you to take action on the things that you can control so you can continue moving forward into your next chapter and anything you want to accomplish.”
Moving forward and enjoying their amazing accomplishments is what IWD 2026 and JJ inspire women to do. For JJ, this includes encouraging women to overcome their negative inner voice and, instead, illuminate their path by recognizing what they’ve accomplished.
“[Women in business] often move through our accomplishments incredibly quickly, often we don’t celebrate the things that we’ve achieved, and we are so quick to move on to the next thing that often we don’t document what we’ve actually achieved.”
Slowing down and recognizing accomplishments before moving on is great advice for women in the tech space, and Lori, Helen, and Loni added to it with their own words of wisdom to other women pursuing success. For Loni, a professional race car driver for Kellymoss, preparing for her races means she leaves no stone unturned. “Being well prepared gives you the confidence to go out there and achieve really big things.”
Blytheco CEO Lori says it’s important to understand that not succeeding at first is a steppingstone to success. “Recognition that failure is just being one step closer to the lessons that will shape us to becoming a master at something new.”
And Helen, CEO of Tigon Advisory Group, says, “You have to stay focused. Make sure you prioritize because there’s only 24 hours a day, you have to make sure you focus on the items that really add value to what matters.”
Focusing On What Really Matters
At Acumatica, we’re focused on delivering an innovative, comprehensive cloud ERP solution that enables our customers to thrive in today’s digital economy. Ensuring we succeed means keeping our focus on the people who make it all possible and recognizing the importance women play in helping create innovative, user-friendly technology.
“Acumatica employees are the heart and soul of this company and our most important asset,” Martha-Lucia says. “We are making strides towards a more equitable team, with women now representing over 35% of our workforce and over 30% of our management.”
As Acumatica celebrates IWD 2026, we know we’re making progress, but we’re not close to being done. We’re constantly listening and learning, discovering ways to help women overcome barriers as we promote women’s roles in traditionally male-dominated industries, like construction.
Says Aasha Cunningham, Director of Accounting and Administration at construction firm Phoenix Renovation and Restoration, Inc., “As a woman, I believe I have the ability to offer a different perspective in many regards, such as our culture, ways to make our employees feel supported and needed, as well as insight to how we can be more efficient and make our field staff’s job a tiny bit easier with each change we make.”
Aasha’s impact is felt throughout her organization, as is the impact made by Vidhyalakshmi Hariharasubramanian, one of the many women shaping the future of technology at Acumatica. Vidhyalakshmi believes more women should aspire to success in tech and STEM.
“Don’t be afraid to venture into technology. As women in tech, we are not always taken seriously, and that is changing because now we are slowly seeing a large number of women in technology. We have a lot of good mentors ready to share their expertise and experience with them.”
Acumatica Community members can find amazing mentors in our expanding online Women in Tech forum, which is made up of women with different positions, personalities, and perspectives who freely share their knowledge and experience as they work together to make the workplace an equitable opportunity. The community continues to grow, and we’re adding to its numbers everyday as we create programs that help increase female representation in STEM, such as our Acumatica-LPGA Foundation Scholarship.
This year’s recipients were Amelie Phung and Caitlyn Chin, and Acumatica CEO John Case had this to say in the press release, “As a company committed to innovation, inclusivity and community impact, we’re proud to support Amelie and Caitlyn, two remarkable young women who embody creativity, excellence, leadership and the fortitude needed to realize their potential. Their accomplishments on the course and in their academic and entrepreneurial pursuits inspire us to keep pushing boundaries and investing in the next generation of changemakers.”
With IWD 2026 putting the spotlight on the importance of driving transformative change through collective efforts, Acumatica is dedicated to being a part of the change and advocating for gender equality today and in the future.
