Building a Legacy of ERP Innovation

In 2008, Acumatica was born. The founders, which include our CTO Mike Shchelkonogov, had an amazing vision: build an ERP platform that could deliver the same deep functionality and rich interface of desktop applications through the internet.

They brought their vision to life, developing Acumatica as a true cloud ERP platform that provides small and midsized businesses (SMBs) with a comprehensive, future-forward business management solution that will serve them for a lifetime. I had the pleasure of joining this amazing team in 2009, and for the last 15 years, it’s been an honor to help the Acumatica ERP solution evolve into what it is today—an award-winning, AI-powered cloud ERP solution that delivers unmatched usability and receives the highest customer ratings in the industry.

It’s a phenomenal company and an incredible place to work, but during the Day 2 Keynote at Acumatica Summit 2026, I confirmed  that my time as a day-to-day member of Acumatica’s leadership team has come to an end. As with all endings, however, there is the excitement of new beginnings, and for Acumatica, that’s welcoming Jon Pollock as Acumatica’s new Chief Product Officer (CPO).

Acumatica: Leading the Intelligence Revolution

Jon, who was most recently the CPO for Procare Solutions, has more than 25 years of experience proactively leading high tech companies, helping them scale their platforms and accelerate growth. His passion is building high-performing teams that produce great products, and at Acumatica, that’s exactly what we do.

Acumatica’s intuitive ERP software helps our customers thrive in today’s digital world. We’re constantly evolving and improving the solution with bi-annual releases that include powerful new capabilities and advanced features that meet the needs of businesses operating in what I call the intelligence revolution.

For decades, ERP has been known as a system of record, but it can be—and is—so much more. Acumatica, as a leader in the ERP space, is shaping ERP into a system of intelligence, which means businesses will move from being reactive to proactive and will replace traditional automation (e.g., following scripted steps) with autonomy.

What do we mean by autonomy? Autonomy empowers users to use AI as a way to target a specific objective, such as getting orders out on time or finding ways to be profitable. The AI-based strategy enables modern ERP to provide users with the information and insights they need to meet these objectives.

It’s a thrilling innovation that changes business as we know it, but before it can be fully realized, we must recognize that intelligence requires integrity. This integrity stems from proactive AI governance, or, in other words, ensuring that only clean, accurate data is put into the ERP system, thus guaranteeing that it’s a system built on truth. A no-noise system benefits today’s complex businesses by alerting them to opportunities and unseen risks built on understanding the context of the business, its industry, and the people using it.

The Future is Now

At Acumatica Summit 2026, CEO John Case told thousands of attendees that the pace of change is accelerating, bringing with it new possibilities and new ways to innovate. He also said that the future is here, and for Acumatica, this includes leaving this rich legacy of innovation in the capable and experienced hands of our new CPO Jon Pollock, our Chief Engineering Officer Miten Mehta, and their talented teams of engineers, developers, and industry experts.

“The combination of a strong cloud-native platform, passionate customers and partners, and a clear opportunity to innovate across vertical ERP, payments, and AI makes this an exciting next chapter,” writes Jon on his LinkedIn profile. “The future at Acumatica is bright, and I’m optimistic about what we’ll build together.”

I’m optimistic too! Acumatica is just getting started, and Jon will be an inspirational, value-adding leader throughout the exciting journey.

I’m deeply grateful for the years of being part of such an exceptional, dynamic Community. Thank you to everyone for your friendship and support, and though I’m saying good-bye in my official capacity, I will always be an enthusiastic Acumatica Ambassador. The sky is the limit for what we can accomplish, together.
