Acumatica Summit 2025: Making a Difference Through Sustainability

Acumatica’s commitment to realizing a more sustainable and more responsible future is core to the values we share as a company and—together with our partners and customers—the impact we want to make as a Community.

The importance we place on Community and sustainability is nowhere more evident than at our annual Summit. Acumatica Summit 2025 (January 26–29 at Wynn Las Vegas) is fast approaching, and our highly anticipated event will offer three full days of learning, networking, and fun as we equip attendees with the knowledge, skills, and resources they need to grow their businesses.

Our Summit experience is grounded on the principles of supporting each other and caring for our natural environment, and this sentiment is seen not only in what we do before and during the event but also in the outcomes fostered by these sustainability-minded actions.

Environmental Sustainability

Every day, Acumatica strives to be a shining example of how businesses can positively impact the environment. In 2024, our commitment to sustainability and responsible business practices earned us the prestigious EcoVadis Silver Medal for the third consecutive year, placing us in the top 15% of our industry competitors and in the 89th percentile of all companies assessed globally.

We’re also a certified climate neutral organization, which means we’ve worked hard to offset our carbon emissions in line with the emissions reduction criteria set by the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi). We’ve saved an average of 95% emissions by shifting on-site servers to the cloud—thus reducing our own emissions—and we’ve planted over 3,300 trees through Forestnation.com and Tree-nation.com.

We take our sustainability measures just as seriously during Summit, and our actions have been recognized by MeetGreen—a sustainable event management agency. We’ve earned their prestigious “Visionary” status rating through our eco-friendly business practices, such as providing 100% Made-in-the-USA, Summit-related swag.

But that’s not all. With the help of Wynn Las Vegas, we continue to:

  • Provide event water stations and aluminum/glass beverage container alternatives to eliminate single-use plastic bottles. In 2024, we kept potentially 15,438 water bottles from being wasted.
  • Use 100% reusable service ware for conference meals. Since 2021, we’ve saved an estimated 12,586 kgs of landfill waste, which is the equivalent weight of about 185 washing machines.
  • Implement recycling, composting, and donation plans to keep event materials out of landfills.
  • Collect water and energy consumption data from Wynn to analyze how we can further reduce usage in the future.

Additionally, we account for our general contractor’s move-in and move-out waste disposal; use TerraCycle Zero Waste™ boxes to collect hard-to-recycle event materials, like badges and lanyards; own/rent and store for reuse 100% of Summit assets, furniture, and décor; and seek local labor for Summit move-in and move-out.

Finally, as in years past, we’ll be:

  • Donating unused event food to those in need. (Acumatica Summit 2024 saw 2,000 meals recovered and donated.)
  • Recycling and composting materials (2.48 tons and 5.58 tons, respectively, in 2024).
  • Buying carbon offset credits for all attendee travel (saving 376,420 kg of CO2e so far).
  • Using digital wayfinding and informational signs and printing any signage within the Las Vegas metro area to reduce transportation.
  • Providing virtual attendance options.

All in all, our efforts helped us achieve a total carbon impact of 3,506,102 kg CO2e for Acumatica Summit 2024, an incredible increase of over 1,200,000 kg CO2e from the previous year, and we eagerly anticipate the offsets to grow even further as we continue to prioritize sustainability at our annual event.

Sustainability Through Empowerment

Championing environmental sustainability makes the world a better place, but it’s up to us to ensure that this better place is welcoming and inclusive to all.

Since 2017, Summit has hosted a female-centered Women in Technology Luncheon where women in the tech industry can gather, network, and learn from each other and from leaders and experts in the industry. Such a collective sharing of experiences and insights helps each attendee unlock their full potential. This year, we’ll also be hosting our third-annual Women in Tech Networking Reception, allowing attendees to put the skills learned at the Luncheon into practice.

But the Luncheon and Reception are a small part of Acumatica’s commitment to helping women in tech. Our 2023 sponsorship of professional LPGA golfers Jessica Korda and Lilia Vu has led to our partnering with the LPGA Foundation in 2024 to present the Acumatica LPGA Scholarship. This exciting opportunity supports female high school seniors who will be pursuing a full-time, STEM-focused education.
